Kurt shrout - Brazilian Jiu Jitsu brown belt

Kurt Shrout began his martial arts journey at a young age with boxing. His interest in the striking arts eventually led him to Thailand where he lived and trained in the devastating art of Muay Thai.

While in the United States, Kurt was introduced to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and eventually found his way into the tutelage of Master Pedro Sauer. Kurt earned his Purple belt with Master Sauer before eventually moving to Portland Oregon where he began training with the New Breed team under Eben Kanesheiro. In 2009, Kurt earned his brown belt and has competed multiple times at this belt level with great success.

Kurt teaches both Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu at the Portland academy and is inspired by seeing students who choose to learn either of these amazing arts.
